No sound from DOS application due to IRQ conflict
Cause:
IRQ conflict between the sound card and another device.
Solution:
Resolve the IRQ conflict.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings'.
3) Select 'Control Panel'.

4) Double-click the 'System' icon. (The 'System Properties' dialog box appears.)

5) Click the 'Device Manager' tab.
6) Double-click the 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers'.

7) Double-click the sound card listed.
8) Click the 'Resources' tab.
9) Note under the 'Conflicting Device List' box if it indicates that there is any conflict with another device.

10) If yes, note the IRQ address that is conflicting.
11) Click 'Cancel'.
12) Verify that 'Interrupt request (IRQ)' is selected.
13) Double-click the 'Computer' icon.
14) Review the list showing the IRQ number assigned to each device on the computer.

15) Determine an IRQ number that is not being used by another device.
16) Click 'Cancel'.
17) Double-click the sound card.
18) Click the 'Resources' tab.
19) If 'Use automatic settings' is selected, clear it.

20) In the 'Resource Listings' box, double-click 'Interrupt Request'.

21) In the 'Value' box, type the IRQ number you wish to set for the sound card.

22) Click 'OK' from each box until 'Control Panel' appears.
